My Story
Hi! My name is Laurette Reynosa and I am the Director of Orchestra and Piano at Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas. I also serve as the department chair for fine arts. Under my direction, my orchestras have received many honors, including UIL Sweepstakes and finalists in the TMEA Honor Orchestra Competition. In addition, many of my students have participated in region and state orchestras. I also remain very active as a respected clinician and adjudicator.
A native Texan, my love for music began at age five with piano lessons, followed by joining the school orchestra at age ten. Recognizing the huge impact music had on my life, I decided to dedicate my life to it, and received my degree from the University of Houston in viola performance. After many years of private and public-school teaching, my passion for arts education and advocacy let me to pursue my master's degree in Arts Administration from Southern Utah University. My love for the arts, combined with my skills of organizing, planning, and team management, will help my achieve my goal of becoming a strong arts advocate and promoting arts education for all.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and two cats. I love dancing, traveling, eating new food, experiencing new cultures, and web/graphic design. I also enjoy arranging music for my orchestras and have several arrangements available through SheetMusicPlus.com.
